Got problems with rail services? There is a direct solution
Posted in Travel tips
National Express is reminding people there is a direct solution to engineering works impacting rail travel in the south west.
Travellers using some rail routes are faced with replacement bus services as Network Rail carry out engineering work in Whiteball tunnel, between Taunton and Exeter from Saturday 18 January to Sunday 9 February.
As a result, First Great Western services between London Paddington and the West of England are being re-scheduled and will operate to a reduced frequency with travellers facing up to 75 minutes extra on top of usual journey times.
People choosing to travel by coach however can reach their destination direct and unlike train travellers, also benefit from the comfort of a guaranteed seat.
The following routes are affected by rail disruption:
- Exeter to London
- Taunton to London
- Bristol to Exeter
- Plymouth to London
- Plymouth to Bristol
People can benefit from National Express coaches direct from stations and stops in Exeter, Taunton, Bristol and Plymouth.
